Hélio António

Helio Antonio is a Portuguese ocean and surf photographer born and raised in Nazaré, on Europe's Atlantic coast. Growing up steps from Praia do Norte, one of the world's most legendary big wave breaks, he developed a lifelong obsession with the sea, and a singular drive to capture its raw emotion on camera. His work has appeared in the pages of National Geographic, Esquire, Surfer, The Surfer's Journal, Stab, and Carve, among others, and in campaigns for Red Bull, Monster Energy, Yeti, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, and HBO. A regular Surfline contributor since 2015, he is also co-author of Salitre, Portugal's only dedicated surf publication, now in its third volume.
